On April 14, Kids Vision for Life St. Louis (KVFL) hosted its first annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon at the Clayton Community Center. KVFL is extremely grateful for the 300 volunteers who have assisted the program during the school year. With the help of KVFL volunteers, over 30,000 students have received vision screenings and over 3,300 students have received glasses.
“Many of our volunteers have been affected by poor vision so it is inspiring to see their heart to give back any way they can.” Sarah Graham, Volunteer Coordinator, loves watching the impact the students have on volunteers. ”Kids Vision for Life’s volunteers conduct vision screenings, help students pick out glasses, and get the chance to watch the students put on their glasses for the first time. Our volunteers are hands-on and given the opportunity to interact with kids, school faculty and parents in the community.”
KVFL is excited to work with our volunteers again next year during the 2016-17 school year. Thank you for all of your hard work!
