The staff at Kids Vision for Life St. Louis works closely with school nurses to ensure that students receive the quality eyecare they need. We spoke with Nurse Barbara Gibbs, from Glasgow Elementary, about our program.
During the 2015-16 school year, 56 students at Glasgow Elementary received an eye exam from KVFL and 50 of those students were prescribed glasses. Nurse Gibbs has been working with KVFL for 7 years and thinks our program is a wonderful way for the students that need glasses to obtain them. When students are able to see better, they are also able to perform at a higher rate in school.
